CueDeckser Manual

From local gigs to stadium tours, CueDeck is designed to be your reliable partner. This guide covers the technical details of preparing your tracks and mastering the app.

1 Audio Preparation

For perfect synchronization, audio format is everything.

  • Use .WAV Files: MP3 and AAC files often contain "header silence," which adds a few milliseconds to the start. In a live environment, this causes tracks to drift from the metronome.
  • The Bar 1 Start: Ensure every stem in your ZIP file is exported from your DAW (Logic, Ableton, Pro Tools) starting at exactly the same timestamp.
  • Naming Cues: Name your click track "Click" and your vocal count-in "Guide". CueDeck uses these keywords to route audio to specific channels.

2 Smart Metadata Naming

Save time by naming your ZIP files correctly before importing.

  • The Format: Song Title [Key-BPM-TimeSig].zip
  • Example: Midnight Neon [Am-120-4_4].zip
  • Note: Since Windows doesn't allow slashes in filenames, use an underscore (4_4) for time signatures. CueDeck will automatically convert it back to 4/4 inside the app.

3 Hardware & Routing

Unlock professional separation for your Front of House (FOH) mix.

  • Stereo Mode: Without an interface, all audio is mixed to your iPad/Mac speakers or headphone jack.
  • Multi-Channel Output: Connect a USB Audio Interface (e.g., Focusrite, Behringer). Enable "Route Click to 3 & 4" in Settings.
  • The Split: Backing tracks go to Outputs 1-2 (FOH), while Click, Guide, and your Count-In go to Outputs 3-4 (In-Ear Monitors).

4 Advanced Stage Features

Master your performance with real-time controls.

  • Pitch Shifting: Use the Edit menu to change the key of a song. CueDeck's phase vocoder shifts the music stems without affecting the Click or Guide tracks.
  • Ambient Pads: Tap the PAD button to trigger a drone. It follows your song's key and crossfades automatically when you switch tracks.
  • MIDI Learning: Map any CC or Note-On signal from a MIDI pedal to Play, Stop, or Next Song via the "Learn" buttons in Settings.
